WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM? I started developing a weight problem in the beginning of high school and ended up gaining a total of 30 pounds in 10th through 12th grade🤦♀️. Growing up, I wasn’t taught how to be even close to healthy. I ate foods that tasted good but always made me feel terrible. My lack of energy from diet prevented me from having any desire to exercise, so it felt hopeless for me.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE? My weight gain had led me to weight loss fads and quick fixes. They usually gave me immediate results but I always ended up back to my original weight, plus some. I did have family support but deep down inside I was not confident in my choices, nor was I confident in my physical appearance.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY? Since after high school, I lost and gained 50 pounds twice over 10 years, and I couldn’t let it happen again. It was time to reveal the beautiful person inside that I new I was, and make the physical and mental transformation permanent.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? (Back story)… I had been traveling (and yo yo dieting) with my twin sister since 2004 at age 20. We traveled to 5 different locations over the next 7 years and had a ball. We then ended up in beautiful Hawaii, worked for 2 years then eventually had to split up.
Sally, my sis, ended up traveling to Tennessee to help our dad (who had some health complications). 2 months later, she decided to go back to Bellevue (where we are from) to stay with Fern, our dear grandma. Fern was 93 at that time, and rebounding for exercise. 👏 Sally didn’t think much of rebounding then, but Fern continued to do her daily jump.
In mid 2013, it was a good time for Sally to come back to be with me in Hawaii, but she didn’t want to leave her new best friend, grandma behind. So what happened next?😍Yep! Grandma decided to move with Sally to Hawaii and the three of us became perfect roommates while Sally and I began our care taking career for her🤗. (She ended up selling her rebounder before she left, so we didn’t think of buying one until later in my story). By the way, it’s 2020 now, Grandma is still healthy at 101 years old and we are all back in Bellevue, WA. 😇
So, back to my weight loss journey, I did some research online to find the best rebounder for Sally and me to reach our weight loss goals and we found it. The Cellerciser👑. HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS In the First year of Cellercising and eating the Starch Solution diet, I lost 20 pounds.👏 I finally felt great in my skin and new that I could eventually lose all of my excess weight through jumping alone and eating a starch based diet.
6 months after that, I had lost 5 more pounds and I began to fully understand the PROFOUND potential of rebounding and realized I was onto something HUGE. The muscles I built from jumping alone was the most shocking part for me. At that point, 1.5 years in, I flexed for a photo and my chin hit the floor when I saw my arms! I looked like a bodybuilder! From jumping alone? I couldn’t believe it. My body composition was transforming! My body fat was literally turning to pure muscle! 🤯Over the next 6 months I had lost a total of 30 pounds. I had never been happier with my body in my life.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART? The challenges I faced were that I was still figuring out how many calories my body needed and the macros that I wanted to consume for my overall performance and health. This caused my weight to fluctuate after the first 2 years, which really frustrated me and made me feel a bit lost.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING? At one point I wanted to settle for a body that still had jiggle in places, but I kept pushing and was determined. It ended up being my diet that finally did the trick, and I am so grateful for those newfound changes I made.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM? In June of 2020 I found the ultimate solution for permanent weight loss, the ‘Eat More Weight Less’ Diet. 🙏I lost 5 pounds in the first month and 2 pounds in the second month. (September 2020 will be my third month and counting👏).
I was (and still am) eating huge plates of nutritious food (half the plate is veggies and half the plate is starches) and am following the low calorie density chart for all of my plant based food choices. For the first time in my life, I feel satiated, satisfied, light, energized and I’m getting leaner by the day. All the hard work that I’ve put into Cellercising is finally paying off and my body is super fit and shredded, which is my dream come true. 💪
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT? I Lost 20 pounds in the first year, 1o pounds in the second year and fluctuated 5-10 pounds in year 3 – 4 and a half.
4.5 total years later, I’ve lost 35+ pounds and feel amazing!
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES? Because of the excess weight (fat) I wanted to lose, I became an expert on the Cellerciser. I taught myself how to build every single muscle in my body, even my face! I am grateful for the time and dedication I put into my fitness journey because of the weight (body fat) I desired to lose.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? In 2013 (when I started taking care of grandma) that’s when I decided to switch to a plant based diet.👍 The problem was, I became influenced by vegans who had lead me down the path of eating an extremely high fruit diet. I didn’t lose weight, instead, I gained weight.
At my heaviest in 2015, I was very confused about calories and was eating way more than my body needed (too much fruit and very little starches). The only positive thing I can take away from that experience was I felt like I overcame tendencies to binge on junk food, which I am grateful for.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? Before I started my Cellerciser journey, I did walking and cycling for exercise and never lost any weight. Once I started Cellercising, I instantly discovered that my body hadn’t really gained much fitness at all! 🧐! The Cellerciser was (is) so potent, it showed me where all of my weaknesses were.
Initially, I had to take jumping slowly and be patient as my smaller muscles and cells had to play ‘catch up’ with my major muscle groups. Once I got through that phase, about 2 months, I started to jump regularly and I new it was the perfect exercise for me, and probably for everyone.
