Powerlifter Jonathan Cayco Deadlifts Massive 318 kg (701 lbs) For A Three Rep PR

Jonathan Cayco Deadlift 701lb

The 2021 IPF World Champion Jonathan Cayco is getting back in action soon. Jonathan is preparing for Powerlifting America Classic (Raw) Open Nationals, from April 1-3, 2022, in Austin, TX. Only four weeks are left until the competition, and Jonathan is lifting some impressive weights in the training room. He recently shared a new deadlift rep PR of 318 kg (701 lbs) on his Instagram.

Although Jonathan is known for his bench press prowess, which earned him the nickname ‘Mr. Bench’, he is also a top-tier deadlifter. Jonathan pulls with a conventional stance and a mixed grip. He also only used a lifting belt, which makes his 318 kg (701 lbs) deadlift completely raw. His current bodyweight was not specified, but Jonathan competes in the 93 kg weight class.

Jonathan is not chasing a World Record in the deadlift event, but this progress will have a big carryover to his overall results, as he will definitely want to further improve his IPF Total World Record. The record was set in the 93 kg weight class at the 2021 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships, as Jonathan totaled 873 kg (1924.6 lbs)

At that same competition, Jonathan bench pressed 238 kg (524.7 lbs), which is also the current IPF World Record in the 93 kg weight class.

Jonathan Cayco’s Career

Jonathan Cayco is extremely successful and is the man to beat in the 93 kg weight class. He has taken part in 12 sanctioned competitions, and is currently on a 5 win streak. It is hard to see anyone beating him in the near future, as he is constantly getting even better. Jonathan’s most notable wins came in the 2021 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships, and the 2019 and 2021 USAPL Raw Nationals.

Jonathan Cayco’s Current official (done in competition) PRs:

  • Squat: 305 kg (672.4 lbs)
  • Bench Press: 242.5 kg (534.6 lbs)
  • Deadlift: 345 kg (760.6 lbs)
  • Total: 892.5 kg (1967.6 lbs)

All of his competition PRs were done in the 2021 USAPL Iron Office Winter Classic. These lifts don’t count as IPF World Records, as the competition was sanctioned by USAPL.
