It started when I was 12 years old. And that was because I was being made fun of that I was to small then I was gaining weight and then I was getting made fun of gaining to much. That’s when I become a compulsive over eater, closet eater.

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE? My weight has affected my whole life being made fun of at home and at school. Some of the names were not nice at all. I did shy away going out with friends because I felt like I never belonged. I’ve been self-conscious all my life, same way with my self esteem has been affected. It’s been so bad that I’ve let this affect my relationships with men and let them walk all over me. This stuff has been going on for 20 plus years. I’m finally working on loving myself and not seeing the 267lbs person in the mirror.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY? I have lost over 100 pounds twice. The first time was that I wanted a good husband and husbands don’t want fat chicks. So I started doing it in 2010 and lost 113lbs then I met my husband got cocky and stopped working out. Pretty much I put all my effort into him and my son. Then gained it all back, which really affected my body and my self esteem. Then when my health was going down fast I started doing it again and now down 127lbs.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? I signed up for Bootcamp and weight watchers the first time. The second time I went to my doctor after he told me he would have to fuse my lower back because it was so bad, that’s when I woke up and went in for Gastric sleeve. I also workout and teach workout classes and that’s my favorite thing to do.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS? A couple of weeks I seen results for both. And the more I worked out the more the results I seen.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART? PCOS, no family support, compulsive overeater, closet eater, binge eater, back and neck issues, high blood pressure issues, depression, anxiety.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING? Yes, I always wanted to give up. But smaller clothes, my son, getting stronger, and now I look at quotes. Then I have learned how to do positive self talk.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM? Yes I hit plateaus and when I hit them I would get upset but then I would switch things up and it would go down again.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT? 1 year the first time and the 2nd time its been 20months.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES? Yes, my clothes were finally fitting. I can remember this first time I lost weight we were having a party for me. I went to a special store and got a dress and it was the best day for me. Then the second time it was just seeing results in the pictures.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? I hate mostly fast food, emotional eater and never had an off botton.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? At first working out was hard for me but I was determined to get to my goal. And this second has been even harder. I like working out and can’t wait to help others get to their goals.
